On steep southern slope of Uoofaadoa plateau,in frill sun. Well-drained rocky
soil of sandstone loam. Forest with Rhus, Celtis and Protortius.
Plants dioecious. Tree up to 3 mhigtf. Leaves alternate, pmnatdy compound,
glabrous, leaf margins entire. Flowers white, in a raceme. Calyx in female
flowers persistent, becoming red around the fruit Native and rare.
