PLANTS OF COLOMBIA, SOUTH AMERICA

Tufted plants: erect leaves green above, light
brown below, reaching height of 10-11 cm. Flowers
with dark brown sepals, pale yellow petals,
reaching height of 12-15 cm.
Cienaga (swamp) at west end of lake, with grasses
and herbs, but no Espeletia. Very wet, peaty
soil. Station 7. Alt. cerca 3360 m.

Depto. Cauca: Macizo Colombiano; páramo de Las Papas, alrede-
dores de la laguna de Cusiyaco. Alt. 3200 m.
