    Shrub growing on vertical limestone cliffs. Erect to 1.5 m tall. Entire plant covered with dense tomentose indumentum (especially lower leaf surface, inflorescence, pedicels, and outer surface of calyx lobes). Corolla campanulate; base of corolla tube nea.

Haiti. Department Grand'Anse. Near village of Roseaux (17+ km east of
Jérémie). Dirt trail from Roseaux to Nan Pilingue following coast (usually
along top of limestone cliffs, but occasionally trail passes along beaches
near base of cliffs). Elevation 0-30 m. 18°36'2"N 73°59'57"W. Dry
coastal scrub forests on limestone. Shrub growing on vertical limestone
cliffs. Erect to 1.5 m tall. Entire plant covered with dense tomentose
indumentum (especially lower leaf surface, inflorescence, pedicels, and
outer surface of calyx lobes). Corolla campanulate; base of corolla tube
nearly glabrous and apex of corolla tomentose; corolla mostly pinkish-red
with orange base. Very common and abundant along beaches (populations
of 5-80+ individuals). Also observed along cliffs near entrance of the
village Jérémie. Digital images of this collection are with John L. Clark
