Below Mirror Lake, Yosemite Valley, Mariposa County, in the Transition Zone, at an altitude of 1220 m. Plants plainly woody at base. Corolla varying from deep pur- plish blue through light purple and lavender to very pale lavender or whitish; yellow spot on banner becomes deep red with age in the darker flowers and bright red in flowers of lightest shade.
