vegetation along edge of fairly dense post oak - yaupon
woodland on gentle slope underlain by one of the Eocene
sands (Reklaw?), on soils mapped as deep, well drained,
slightly acid fine sandy loam Udertic Paleustalfs (Axtell
Series), just above upper edge of floodplain of Alum Creek,
along a minor side road ca. 2.3 airmiles S of jet. St. Rt. 21
and F. M. 1441, at N30°07.092\ W97°13.369\ Bastrop
State Park. Smithville Quadrangle. Elev. 420 ft. Area
unbumed during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September
2011.
Associates included Croton capitatus, Diodia teres, Helenium am arum,
Heterotheca pilosa, H. subaxillaris.
