BROWN CO.: plants bushy, branched from base, mostly
less than 0.5 m tall and wide; corolla pink, five-lobed, the
lobes equal in size and none arching forward over styles, the
throat white with numerous dark pink or purple maculae;
locally frequent in herbaceous vegetation on lower part of
gentle slope with exposures of conglomeratic member of
Travis Peak Formation (Cretaceous), ca. 2.2-2.3 airmiles
SSE of jet. St. Rt. 45 and F. M. 2126 on SE side of
Brownwood, at N31°37.758’, W098°56.569\ Camp Bowie
(Texas Army National Guard). Elev. 1480 ft.
Associates included Croton monanthogyxius, Gutierrezia texana, Juniperus
ashei, Muhlenbergia reverchonii, Nolina texana, Schizachyrium
scoparium, Yucca pallida.
