post oak woodland on gently rolling landscape underlain by
Reklaw Formation, on well drained, slightly acid, sandy
gravelly soils mapped as Axtell-Tabor complex, ca. 0.5
airmiles ENE of Hoppy Springs, ca. 0.9-1.0 airmiles SE to
SSE of jet. St. Rt. 21 and F. M. 1441 NE of Bastrop, at
N30°08.456’, W097°l 2.769”. Bastrop State Park. Smithville
NW Quadrangle. Elev. 460-470 ft. Area lightly burned
during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011.
Associates included Ambrosia psilostachya, Andropogon temarius,
Aristida longespica, A. oligantha, Aster patens, Bothriochloa laguroides,
Croton capitatus, C. monanthogynus, Digitaria cognata, Diodia teres,
Eragrostis secundiflora, Helenium amarum, Hypericum drummondii,
Lechea sp., Lespedeza hirta, Liatris aspera, L. mucronata, Opuntia sp.,
Paspalum notatum, Polygonum ramosissimum, Schizachyrium scoparium,
Solidago radula, Sporobolus composite, Steinchisma hians, Tephrosia
virginiana, Trichostema dichotomum, Vemonia texana.
