FABACEAE
Herbs to 3.5ft tall, uncommon, flowers violet. Growing
in a shrubby roadside thicket in sandy loam (Rainbow
silt loam, 2-8% slopes, very stony; coarse-loamy,
mixed, active, mesic Aquic Dystrudepts). Growing
with Acer rubrum, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Apios
americana, Betula papyrifera, Bidens frondosa, Carex
sp., Corylus americana, Cyperus sp., Daucus carota,
Dichanthelium acuminatum, D. commutatum,
Eleocharis sp., Eupatoriumperfoliatum, Euthamia
graminifolia, Juniperus virginiana, Lycopus sp.,
Oenothera speciosa, Oxalis stricta (?), Phytolacca
americana, Polygonum sagittatum, Rhus glabra,
Solidago rugosa, Toxicodendron radicans, Viburnum
dentatum & Vitis labrusca. Under powerlines along the
N. side of Rt. 20 (Turkey Hills Road), about 100ft E. of
the entrance to the Newgate Cooperative Management
Area & about 2.5mi W. of the intersection with Rt. 187
in East Granby. Hartford Co. Elev. around 245ft. 41°
57' 12.5"N, 72° 46' 09.0"W. UTM 18 684892E,
