Costa Rica: Puntarenas Prov. Ca. 3-3.5 km. S.E. of Santa Elena and 2 km. east of Monteverde. Cordillera de Tilaran. Over- grown pasturelands surrounded by virgin cloud forests at an elev. of 1500-1600 m. Flimsy arching loosely branched shrubs to 2 m. tall. Petals white, obovate, 10-11 mm. long? filaments pink, antepetalous anthers pale pink, 4.5 mm. long. Antesep- alous anthers yellow, 3 mm. long. All appendages yellow. Capsules urceolate 5-6 mm. long.
