Bristly Sarsaparilla
The identifying bristles grow on the
lower part of the main stem of the plant*
They are exceedingly stiff and sharp
making the collecting of a specimen un-
favorable •
Unlike the Wild Sarsaparilla the
Bristly Sarsaparilla tends to grow as a
solitary plant at Pire Island, and is not
frequently found.
Examined for the distribution and abundance of American
ginseng, Panax quinquefolius L., and related taxa.
