  • Description

    Pileus 3-6 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, matted fibrillose, densely so on disc, sparsely so at margin, irregularly violet brown (10E-F7-6) with white areas especially at margin, with margin inrolled when young, becoming decurved. Flesh up to 1.5 cm thick, white, developing violet brown areas with age, unchanging, with mild to subpungent odor and mild taste. Lamellae broadly adnate to barely subdecurrent, close to subdistant, up to 6 mm broad, thick, white, developing pinkish brown stains with age, with even edges. Stipe 4-8 cm long, 1-1.5 cm broad, ±equal to slightly broader below, strict or curved, dry, fibrillose above and below, white above with minute pale violet brown spots, streaked violet brown below, pale violet brown nearly overall with age, but generally reamining paler at apex, with interior solid, white at first, eventually with some pale violet brown areas. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
