Ritter (NHA), 1999 Flora of Bolivia Family: Azollaceae Azolla 02481069 Department of Santa Cruz Province of Velasco Lago Caiman; a "bahia" which receives water from the Rio Itenez during the rainy season, and is isolated during the dry season. Elev: 200 meters. Center of the collecting area ca. 13°35'39"S. 60°54'58"W. Free floating macrophyte. Thalli and leaves green with red highlights. Common. Growing in the interstices in the floating mat. Habitat: a large, loosely coalesced floating mat, dominated by Eichhomia azurea. 6/25/98 #4324 Collected by: N. Ritter, G. E. Crow , M. Garvizu and P.
