highway embankment, filled with rank mostly
herbaceous sedge-meadow vegetation. Assoc.
Phalaris arundinacea & Carex trichocarpa co-
dominants, w/ Aster firmus, Carex lacustris,
Calystegia sepium,
Cirsium arvense, Eupatorium maculatum, Hasteola
suaveolens, Helenium autumnale, Impatiens
capensis, Muhlenbergia mexicana, Onoclea
sensibilis, Oxypolis rigidior, Polygonum scandens var.
cristatum, Rumex orbicuiatus, Solidago gigantea.
Uppermost edge of broad low terrace between the
Wisconsin River floodplain to the west and and low
hills to the east. Ripe berries dark blue, 6--8 mm in
diam. when fresh.
