Field Studies Supported by a Grant From the National Science Foundation Cavendishia talamancensis Luteyn det. F. Almeda '78 Costa Rica: Cartago Province. Ca. 14 km. SE of El Empalme at an elevation of 2600 m. Dis- turbed woodland dominated by oak and other hardwoods. Coarse epiphytic shrub 1.5 m. tall. Floral bracts deep reddish pink.
