Habitat
In peaty places, sun or shade. These plants also spread out amongst and beneath other shrubs. Very local.

Description
Plants form dense masses, and the flowers tend to be hidden beneath dense foliage. Weak straggling plants, soft and green in shade, more robust in sun. On exposed ledges and steep slopes plants are dwarfed and flowers conspicuous. The corolla is white on the shaded plants and tinged pink where the aspect is sunny. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
