Common in water about 1 m deep. Plants growing to
and at water surface. At some places, emersed plants
growing on sandy shores between low and high tide
mark. Flowers yellow. Associated species include
Elodea nuttalli (overwhelming dominant), Vallisneria
americana, and Myriophyllum spicatum.
