Broken twigs emit strong wintergreen scent. Catkins yellow-green, anthers and pollen yellow. Growing in an Oak-Hickory Mesic Woodland with Alliaria petiolata, Prunus, Lonicera japónica, Acer rubrum, Quercus rubra, and Robinia pseudoacacia. Matthew C.
