serotina, Acer rubrum on slope.
41°58’30”N, 73°30’04”W. alt. 265 m.
Tree 7 m. tall, 15 cm. in diameter. Bark more or less
smooth. Twigs with wintergreen flavor. Apparently growing
from large cut trunk wound on large tree of Robinia
pseudoacacia. Cones erect, green.
