Betula glandulifera (Regel) Butler
McCarthy Lake Wildlife Management Area, east of MN state highway 61 and
about 1.7 miles south-southeast of Kellogg. Floating mat of rich fen in an old
channel of the Zumbro River dominated by Carex lacustris and C. prairea. The
soil is a muck that is about 30-45 centimeters deep. Locally common, but found
on only a small part of the mat. Associated with Salix pedicellaris var.
hypoglauca, Thelypteris palustris, Salix Candida, Lysimachia thyrsiflora.
