Somewhat branchy slope. Páramo slopes, white sand, oozing water here and these, brushy hillsides, rocky ridges and ledges.

Shrub 1.5 m. tall (others observed to form trees 3-4 m. tall), fls. bight yellow, leaves decussate. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
