On both E- and W-facing slopes of small valley at
edge of young woods of Acer rubrum, A. negundo,
Prunus serotina, Carya ovata, Quercus alba, Populus
grandidentata.
Shrubs, 2 m. tall, with several erect slender stems
in a clump. Leaves turning yellow or reddish on
many plants. Inflorescence branches pink; fruit
mature, much already dispersed, purple-black.
