Cultivated species under canopy of large cultivated and naturalized oak, sweetgum and tulip trees.

Description
12-15 ft tall; peduncle green, terminate to stem; inflorescence white flowers along spike, no fragrance, with very long pistils and stamens extending far beyond petals; petiole green to brown with white pith, swollen at base (pulvinus); leaves green, pale green underneath, palmately compound, opposite, decussate.
