    Cultivated plant among large cultivated population with cultivated Amsonia hubrichtii, Vernonia novaeboracensis, Juncus effusus.

  • Description

    Approx. 24 in, foliage dark, lustrous green top of leaf; light green, strongly veinated underside of leaf; flowers with pink petals, white edges; white stamens and anthers; petals hooded over to form "turtle head"; short yellow hairs along inner lower petal lip; flowers appear sessile to stem, 4 flowers attached at right angles to each other along stem and terminally.
