Stem to 20 m long, 6 cm diameter with
leaf sheaths. Leaves 35; sheath
densely covered with fine brown
spines; petiole 9 cm long; rachis
80 cm long, not extended into a
cirrus; pinnae 23 per side,
regularly arranged and spreading
in one plane. Inflorescences
alternating with leaves; 6 or more
partial inflorescences, the apex
extending into a flagellum.
