Fronds brilliant red, 14-20 cm. in length, variously cleft, with fan shaped
segments; lower portion of frond traversed by many anastomosing
veins; upper portion showing veins only in specimens with tetraspores,
the veins being without tetraspores.
Dredged from 4-6 fathoms.
