Frond red or somewhat brownish, inarticulate, compressed, de-com-
pound-pinnate; branches alternate; pinnae and pinnulae piano-com-
pressed without evident articulation; central filament articulated;
cortex composed of cells gradually decreasing in size from large angular
cells to very minute ones.
Epiphytic on other algae.
Near Tracyton, Kitsap county, Washington.

Fronds 8-10 cm. in length, irregularly dichotomous; articulations colorr
less; dissepiments swollen; apices hooked inwards; tetraspores whorled
in the joints.
Attached to pebbles and rocks.
