Trichomes 18-36 mie. in diameter, bright blue-green, arranged in loose spirals, elongate,
somewhat torulose, with apex neither attenuate nor capitate; cells 3-6 mie. in length;
protoplasm finely granular, sometimes interspersed with large granules; transverse
walls usually not granulate ; apical cell convex, not capitate ; no calyptra.
Mixed with other algae, floating in lagoon on beach.
Seaconnot, near Hilo, Hawaii, Hawaiian Islands.
