Plant mass widely expanded; filaments straight or somewhat flexuous; sheaths not dis-
tinct; trichomes 6-9 mic. in diameter, blue-green, not constricted at the joints, briefly
attenuated at the apex, capitate, curved or briefly spiral; cells 2-6 mic. in length; cross
walls frequently lined with granules; apical cell showing a rotund calyptra.
On rocks at edge of lake.

diameter, not torulose, straight and somewhat attenuate at apex, capitate; cells 3-7
mic. in length; transverse walls marked with granules; apical cell obtuse, truncate,
showing a somewhat hemispherical calyptra.
