Plants very .small, monoecious; stems tufted, two to five from a single root; stems bearing six to eight whorls of leaves; leaves usually three or four times divided; end cell mucronate; oogonia single at second and third nodes; antheridia' 130-200 mic. in diameter, often somewhat stipitate; mature oosperm 175-306 mic. in length, 204- 285 mic. in breadth, reddish-brown, with seven strong thin ridges, with pitted sur- face.
