Description
An area about 50 feet in diameter produced more than 75 fruit bodies. These fruit bodies grow just under the surface of the ground and in dehiscence at maturity split into irregular stellate rays at the soil's surface. The peridium of those specimens not collected and not growing in drainage ditch remained in good condition throughout the winter.
