  • Georeferencing Method

    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Assumed the locality to be the land directly across Rio Negro from the approximate geographic center of the shore of Manaus. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the approximate geographic center of the shore of the city of Manaus (southernmost tip of Manaus) along Rio Negro. From this locality, used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure southward to the nearest landmass across Rio Negro; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to approximate the linear extent of the locality by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of land across Rio Negro opposite the defined boundaries of the city of Manaus. Since the city of Manaus has defined spatial boundaries on Google Maps, used the linear extent as the uncertainty radius. Site is located in Município Iranduba.
