See notes with the collection made by Simon Davis. The only data regarding collection is that it was made at "Stow11. No state is given; however it is stated that the collection was made under white pine, and that the basidiomes were growing in association with Lactarius indigo. Notes on color and other characteristics are included with collection; however no data was given regarding taste. Dried specimens are pale pink to pink with yellowish areas.
Spores subellipsoid to subovoid, rarely subglobose, 8.5-10 x 7.5-8.5 um, ornamentaion of isolated dark warts and heavy dark ridges, often appearing obscurely reticulate; few fine lines present. Warts .05 - 1 um high.
Facial cystidia scattered to rare, usually inconspicuous and projecting only slightly from the hymenium,clavate, sometimes with a single short terminal appendage; 50-67 x 15-23 um.
Sphaerocysts poorly reviving in KOH.
Subhymenium strongly differentiated.
Basidia 4-spored.
Pileus trama somewhat gelatinous, with numerous small clusters of poorly reviving sphaerocysts; connective hyphae abundant.
Pileipellis a narrow layer of appressed to somewhat interwoven hyphae,^ (not at all a palisade as indicated by Hesler) ; rare free hyphal tips; no pileocystidia.
