Shrub, 2 m high; bark greyish-tan, smooth; new leaves
emerging; flowers white, fragrant (11:30 a.m.). Solitary at
edge of dry forest remnant along road. Mosaic of
abandoned pasture reverting to dry forest and old dry
forest. Lajas: Bo. Llanos, Sierra Bermaja, U. S. National
Wildlife Refuge, La Tinaja tract. Along E-W dirt road
leading into canyon to E of Cerro Mariquita 18°00'25.6"N,
67°06'22.9"W + 8.8 m (GPS), elev 70 m (map).
