Plants of Puerto Rico Herbarium, Department of Biology (MAPR) University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels Tree, 15,m tall, dbh c. 1 m, crown dense; trunk deeply fluted, bark tan to greyish tan, exfoliating in irregular papery to corky plates; stems tan; leaves dark green adaxially, pale green with yellowish midrib beneath. Fruits (from ground) oblong to pyriform, 3-4 cm long« 2-2.5 cm wide, shiny purple-black, flesh purple. , Mayaguez, Bo.
