Boston Harbor is the southern limit for this species, as far as known.
It is here a plant of very early spring, being found fully developed by the mid-
dle of March, and disappearing by the middle or last of April, some years at
the earlier and some at the later date. In Greenland it is reported by Rosen-
vinge as occurring in June and July.
