St. Catherine Parish: Devil's Race Course. Along B-13,
1.1-0.9 mi N of Birkshire Hall, 3.2-3 4 mi N of Doveer
Castle and ca. 6.8-7 mi N of junction with A1. From N 18
degrees 12.768', W 77 degrees 0.179' (and 371 m) to N18
degrees 12.825', W 77 degrees 0.288' (and 384 m). Elev.
371-384 m. Evergreen forest on limestone. With Lyonia
jamaicensis, Encyclia cochleata, Eupatorium, Clusia
rosea, Clethra occidentalis, Moghania strobilifera,
Eugenia, Mangifera indica, Lantana camara, Vemonia
divaricata, Smilax balbisiana, Coccoloba diversifolia.
Melastomes: Ossaea microphylla, Clidemia hirta, Miconia
laevigata, Miconia prasina, Arthrostemma fragile.
Uncommon shrub or small tree to 3 m tall; young fruits
greenish with tan-purple external calyx lobes. Domatia
hairs whitish to brownish. Saw ca. 10 plants,
