    United States of America. Utah. Duchesne Co. 24 miles south of Duchesne along Utah 33, 0.7 miles below Indian Canyon Guard Station.

  • Habitat

    On clay banks, becoming more frequent up the canyon along the highway to near the summit where the Aspen starts. Associated with Chrysothamnus and Artemisia with E. corymbosum var. corymbosum being a common associate.

  • Description

    Perennial shrub, woody at the base only, 3.0 to 5.5 dm tall, spreading outward and upward, white tomentose throughout; leaves on the lower part of the stem only, 2.5 to 4.0 cm long, 0.5 to 1.0 cm wide, tomentose, less so above; involucre 3.0 to 3.5 mm long, 5-lobed, tomentose; perianth segments nearly equal, the inner whorl slightly narrower than the outer whorl, on pedicels 1.0 mm longer than the involucre, flowers yellow, 2.5 to 3.0 mm long, glabrous to minutely pustulose at the base; anthers greenish-yellow, filaments 1.5 to 1.8 mm long, pubescent at the base; achene 2.0 to 3.0 mm long, tapering to a short beak, pustulose throughout with retrorse teeth-like appendages on the angles.
