  • Georeferencing Method

    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the geographic center of the road which directly links the city of Salvaterra to the city of Jubim in Mun. Salvaterra, Ilha de Marajó. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the road which connects the cities of Salvaterra and Jubim, road PA-154. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line beginning at the location where PA-154 meets the approximate geographic center of Salvaterra (at intersection of PA-154 and Rua Quarta) to where PA-154 meets the approximate geographic center of Jubim, then halved this distance (to use for approximating the location of the geographic midpoint of the road). Measured to this calculated distance from one extreme of this segment of road toward the center; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the road. Input coordinates, linear extent (2896.07 m) and measurement error (.01 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
