Filamehtis 80-90 li diam., sparse et irregulariter ramosis;
ramo sporifero, 30-40 u diam., sub angulo recto exeunte, 1-6 mm.
longo, antheridium terminal©, cylindricum aut paulo attenuatum,
hammatum vel circinatum sustipente; oogoniis 2-4, ovoideis, sub-
obliquis, pedicellatis, 70-85 X35-40 u, antheridium superantibus;
rostro 15 longo; pedicellis 100-150 u longis, 20-30 u diam.,sub
antheridio ortis.
'Filaments 80-90 u diam., oogonia and antheridia borne at
the end of a branch l-o mm. long, 30-40 u diam.;antheridium ter-
minal, cylindrical or slightly tapering, hooked or circinate; oogo-
nia 2-4, ovoid, somewhat oblique, pedicelled, 70-85 % 35-40 u, usual-
ly surpassing the antheridium; pedicels 100-150 u long, 20-30 u diam,,
arising just ‘below the antheridium; beak 15 u long. In a diton by the
roadside, Ross Valley, California, Jan., 1904.

Somewhat resembling V . geminata. but distinct by the very long
fruiting branches, at righT angles to the filaments, as well as by the
more elongate oogonia, borne on longer pedicels.
