Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Highway 71 within Hubbard County, Minnesota, between Itasca Park and Park Rapids. Used Google Maps – Earth/Map Views to locate Highway 71 in Hubbard County, Minnesota. Used Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between the start of Highway 71 within Park Rapids, MN (at: 46.914354, -95.058371) and the end of Highway 71 at Itasca Park, MN (at: 47.184772, -95.143565), then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. From the midpoint of the line, chose nearest point along Highway 4. Used Google Maps – What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic midpoint of Highway 71. Used Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent of the highway by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the highway.
