Primary tropical evergreen forest on slopes along small stream. In disturbed tree-fall. Poulsenia armata, Iriartea deltoidea, Jessenia bataua.

Herb. Corolla white; anthers yellow, longer than in S. americanum Mill., and differs in other characteristics also. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
