Frond up to 15 cm. high, filaments slightly twisted below, free above; cells in main filaments .045 mm. diam., in branches about half this size; cells in main filament 1-3 diam., in lesser branches up to 8 diam., slightly constricted at nodes, branches rather erect. Plurilocular sporangia varying much in size and shape, .05-.15 mm. long by .02-.035 broad, large and small together; sometimes cylindrical, oftener largest at the base, dimin- ishing in diameter near the middle; the tip not pointed; usually curved.
