Frond dull purple, 1-2 cm. in height, densely tufted, somewhat rigid ; inter-
nodes 12-tubed, of main stem and branches twice as long as broad, of
the branchlets shorter than their breadth. Sterile.
Forming turf-like strata on sand.
Outlet ofWarbass lagoon, south end of San Juan island, Washington.
