Growing on stoues, on Euppia maritima, and on muddy bottom in a creek in Revere Marshes, near Linden Station, Mass., Sept. 13, 1892. F. S. COLLINS. The prostrate filaments are well developed when the plant grows on mud, less so when on stones or Euppia. It has bppn abundant at this station for V several yenrs, from July to November, but no fruit of any kind has yet been found. Though slender and apparently delicate, it endures without injury ex- posure at low tide for several hours to the full heat of the sun, becoming quite dry and brittle; also exposure to h«avy rain for the same length of time; in both cases resuming its normal condition with the return of the tide. 02222825 02222826
