Frond reddish-purple, 10-15 cm. high ; internodes of main stem and
branches 200-300 mic.in diameter, 2-5 times as long as broad,ofbranch-
lets equal to or shorter than diameter in length; tubes frequently spirally
twisted, 12 in number. Sterile.
On rocks in outlet of lagoon where current is somewhat swift.
Outlet of Warbass lagoon, south end of San Juan island, Washington.
