Frond somewhat stiff, erect, 3-6 cm. in height, the divisions having a pyr-
amidal outline; branching alternate; branchlets and secondary branchlets
oppositely pinnate or whorled; pinnae acutely subulate; tetragonidia
cruciately divided, sessile on secondary branchlets.
Attached to the shelving sides of rocks under wharf.

Agardh states that the median articulations are six times longer, and
those of the pinnae three times longer than the diameter. In the San Juan
specimens the length of the articulations throughout the plant are from
one to four times the diameter.
