Frond somewhat stiff, erect, 3-6 cm. in height, the divisions having a pyr- amidal outline; branching alternate; branchlets and secondary branchlets oppositely pinnate or whorled; pinnae acutely subulate; tetragonidia cruciately divided, sessile on secondary branchlets. Attached to the shelving sides of rocks under wharf. ?Idlewild,? near Friday Harbor, San Juan island, Washington. J. E. T. 28 My 1898. Agardh states that the median articulations are six times longer, and those of the pinnae three times longer than the diameter.
