On rocky slopes. With pinyon, juniper and sagebrush. Common. Gray, silt loam soil, pH ca. 7.8.

Description
Corollas pale red-violet, paler and strongly 2-ridged within throat abaxially; staminode hairs yellow; anthers violet, tan with age; plants forming low mats to 4 dm broad, with few inflorescences developed, mostly in fruit. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
