Hymenocladia sp.
Frond flat, narrow, irregularly pinnate, divisions elongate-cuneate, prolif-
‚rons from the margin and apex, all divisions narrow at the base, margin rough
with small teeth, less frequently entireŻ color in dried specimens dull red in the
younger parts, greenish in older; adheres firmly to paper* Medullary layer of large,
thick-walled cells, smaller cells occurring among them and between them and the
cortex; cortex of small sells in series of 2-4, cells closely set within a firm,
even epidermis. Setrasporangia tripartite, about 40 p. diam.,scattered through the
cortex.
