Frond dull brownish-green, sometimes very pale olive-green, 12-15 cm.
long, fleshy, cylindrical, filiform, in general branching several times
very near the base; branches long, simple, erect; ramuli exceedingly
rare; cystocarps hemispherical, scattered.
a.	Attached to pebbles on a sandy bottom. Below low tide.
b.	On rocky bottom in 10 fathoms. Sterile.
