Frond small, tufted, rising from a minute crust 1-3 mm. in diameter, di-
chotomouslv branched, with apices twice or thrice forked ­branches some-
what attenuate at base, arcuate, divaricate.
In tufts, attached to sides of rocks.

DESCRIPTION: Thallus erect, 1-5 cm. high, simple or a few times
dichotomously branched, with branches terete or slightly flattened;' The
colour is brownish red to purple.
